Mr. Garrett brings pioneering expertise in technology finance and venture capital to his role as Managing Director at DBD Investment Bank Partners, which he joined in April 2018. His career spans multiple decades of innovation across technology, banking, and venture debt financing.

Following his foundational role in establishing the Operations Research department at Columbia University, where he earned his B.S., Mr. Garrett furthered his education with an M.S. in Systems and Information Science from Syracuse University. His early career at IBM showcased his technical prowess through the development of cutting-edge building automation and semiconductor operations software systems.

Mr. Garrett's twelve-year tenure at Alliance Bernstein and UBS PaineWebber established his deep understanding of credit markets, risk management, and capital formation. This experience laid the groundwork for his revolutionary contributions to venture debt financing.

As the founder of Venlease Associates, Mr. Garrett transformed the landscape of technology financing by pioneering venture debt solutions for high-growth companies. His innovative approach resulted in an exceptional zero-loss record for investors while capturing significant market share. His groundbreaking work included establishing the semiconductor industry's first vendor financing programs through KLA-Tencor Capital and Credence Systems Capital. This achievement required building and maintaining strategic relationships with financial institutions throughout Southeast Asia and India.
